Archaeological Laboratory

Technical – scientific and educational laboratories, administration and directional offices, storage rooms, reading hall, restrooms

 

The complex consists of large, double-height storage rooms where study and research activity takes place and where laboratories for processing and storing of artifacts for their preservation are located. There are also offices for the administration of these activities.

 

The center has separate access next to the staff parking, and other points of access facing the inside of the courtyard in an area designated for the cleaning of the findings, directly connected to the archaeological area. The external area is partially covered by an observational walkway which extends entirely up to and covers the newly created technical room, where service laboratory machinery has been installed. In addition to the preexisting stone staircase the walkway is also accessible by way of an appropriately proportioned external stairway. This same stairway also serves the purpose of separating the areas of the courtyard intended for public use from those reserved for the staff of the archaeological center.

Archaeological, restoration, cataloguing and museographic laboratories.

Realization of a technically equipped structure for the study and education of archaeology and restoration which will allow different figures from the scientific and educational sectors to work together in laboratorial research and study activity.
Completeness of scientific data

With the establishment of a permanent structure for archaeological study in this territory, the ruins found on the premises may be gathered and their remembrance preserved on the very grounds where they were retrieved, along with other studies already carried out, consenting their utilization by a single scientific integrated body.
